Welcome to 2007!! So have you made your new year resolutions yet? And if so, did you write them down and commit yourself to making them a reality?

If not, I suggest you do so -- after all this is the first step in successful goal setting and in order for 2007 to actually be the year that you lose those extra pounds I highly suggest doing this simple task!

I am excited to say I have a lot of new changes coming your way this year! We'll be adding valuable resources (things like the Recipes, Sample Meal Plans, A member's section along and some special reports) to our web site www.menopause-weight-gain.com so be sure to periodically stop by and visit!

I'm sure you're anxiously awaiting the "Estrogen 102" article, you know, the one where you will be learning about the "good" and "bad" estrogens and how you can start to shift things in your favor! (If you haven't read "Estrogen 101" you can find it by clicking here.)

But I'm afraid you'll have to wait a little longer. This research has become so involved that I decided to release it as a special report instead of in sections in this newsletter.

TURKEY BURRITOS

Got any left over turkey?

Here's a great recipe to put those leftovers to use. It's balanced nicely in terms of carbs, protein and fat -- and you won't have to worry about the fat storing hormone, insulin, hurrying to pack these calories into your fat cells!


Plus it tastes delicious! Let me know how you like it...


Serves 4 (Serving Size = 1/4 of recipe)

TURKEY BURRITOS
Makes: 4 servings
  • 1 cup coarsely shredded carrot
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 cup plain lowfat yogurt
  • Juice of one lime
  • 2 cups cooked turkey breast, shredded (approximately 10 oz's)
  • 1/2 cup tomato, seeded and diced
  • Shredded lettuce
  • 1/4 cup shredded lowfat Cheddar cheese
  • 8 corn tortillas
Combine carrots, cumin, chili powder, yogurt and lime juice in a bowl. Mix thoroughly. Add turkey breast and tomato and toss gently. Warm tortillas on griddle. Divide turkey mixture into eight equal portions and arrange in warmed tortillas. Garnish with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.
